I am Nadia, x-Project Manager turned baker and cake decorator to stay at home with my kids. I am a wife, homemaker and mum to three kids – teenager, pre-teen and first grader. (yes real life Project Management skills put to test)
I am originally from Pakistan residing in Riyadh, KSA since past 19 years as a trailing spouse.
How this blog started?
I started this blog in 2009 (blog spot days if you remember) as a way to document my baking journey as I tried new recipes, keeping track of my family favorites and sharing with you which eventually turned into a home baking business for birthdays, events, and beyond!
I was enjoying this transition so much primarily because I was able to stay at home with my kids and watch them grow while following my passion and doing something for myself. In the summer of 2016 I went a step ahead and took a Pastry Diploma course from City and Guilds.
Customized Theme Cakes
Decorating customized cakes for over 12 years, multiple short courses in chocolate making, artisan breads and gravity cakes later, when I rekindled my blogging journey, the landscape had totally changed and it was not about day to day rambling and personal stories anymore. It’s all about authority, expertise, trust through SEO and keyword research. I am now working on updating all the recipes, getting all the necessary information packed so you can follow and try these foolproof recipes with full confidence.
Why BakeFresh?
I wanted a name that would represent freshly baked homemade, doesn’t only fulfill your cravings, is a healthier alternative to store bought (sans all preservatives and artificial flavors) but also a way to reconnect; involving family, stress releaser and a journey of finding your passion. The kneading of the dough. Rolling out cookies and creaming butter and sugar can give you enough mindfulness and immersive sensory experience to find your purpose and the passion that drives you to do what you love despite all those voices in your head telling you that you can’t or shouldn’t.
Why bake at home?
I am really a strong advocate of making and feeding kids homemade, from breakfast granola stirred with chocolate chips, whole wheat pancakes and waffles to using high quality cheese for homemade pizzas, freshly baked bread on weekends and making different cookies and the ever favorite brownies for their sweet treat. This blog covers it all.
It symbolizes sharing what you love for others, to stay inspired, and find more JOY. It can pave the way to homemade goodies as gifts, send some freshly baked goodness to your child’s bake-sale and to spread out simple dessert tables for any occasions. So I say, always sneak in ways to BAKE FRESH at home whenever possible.
Ok, Lets get it straight, I am addicted to baking. Its therapeutic for me, gloomy or excited, day or night, I am always in mood of baking. From baking simple at home recipes and a little more temperamental delicacies, gourmet and decorated cakes, adorning cookies with royal icing and dipping cake pops in melted chocolate, to presenting them, I love it all. Hence this website, one of my dreams to cohesively present my passions that you find useful and a visual treat too.
As a budding baker or aspiring cake decorator, you will find recipes, ideas, tips and tutorials and as a wisher to have a cake of your dreams for your next big (or small but important) event, you can find tons of ideas and how to place the order.
