Today I am sharing one of my go to cookies that I make almost every other week. They can also be called inside out chocolate chip cookies because of the opposite flavors of traditional chocolate chip cookies, a soft chocolate cookie with white chocolate chips.

- Use chocolate chips, dark, milk, chunks, any will work
- If you want chewy cookies, you can use melted butter and if you prefer soft cookies, then use room temperature soft butter

They make a great snack for evening, amazing lunch box treat and great giveaway. They remain fresh so sending or taking them to your loved ones is a good idea.
Storage and Make Ahead
You can choose to make the batter and refrigerate it for a day, in a covered container, slightly bring to room temperature before scooping them out.
Store the prepared cookies in an air tight container for up to three days.
Substitutions and Variations
I love to sneak in some healthy ingredients in any of the popular and favorite recipes at my house.
I add approximately 1/2 cup of rolled oats and 1/2 cup of walnuts to the batter to yield more servings and also add a healthy twist.
You can replace white chocolate chips with any other chocolate variety.
Chocolate Cookies with white chocolate chips
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, soft or melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup white chocolate chips chunks
Instructions
- Cream butter and both sugars.
- Add egg and vanilla.
- Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt into the mixture.
- Mix well.
- Fold in chocolate.
- Scoop 12 portions on to a baking sheet, lined with silicon mat or parchment/baking paper.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350F for 15-18 minutes.
- Cool completely before touching.
Notes
You can add in 1/2 cup chopped walnuts and/or 1/2 cup oats at step 5.
Slightly undercooked cookies are better than overbaked, as cookies tend to set when cooled completely
