For today’s recipe, I am sharing my 5 easy-to-make Pakistani desserts recipes using condensed milk. Traditionally, South Asian recipes from Pakistan and India are time-taking and slow-cooking. But since many of us find it challenging to take out time for cooking some traditional desserts, we will be making my top five traditional recipes that I make with condensed milk and they are a breeze to make. These five recipes are made so often that I have created detailed videos of each of them.

What is Condensed Milk?
Here are five quick Simple Condensed Milk Recipes. A little bit about condensed milk, its like concentrated milk reduce to thick consistency and sugar is added to give it sweetness and caramelized flavor.
Can you make Condensed Milk at home?
Well, I have not tried it personally but it certainly is possible and one of my favorite bloggers Gemma from Bigger Bolder Baking have taught how to make one here.
Caramel Pudding with Condensed Milk
It is technically not Pakistani per se but I have owned it since I have been seeing, eating and living this recipe since my childhood. Super easy decadent Egg Pudding that used to grace every dinner at our home. I have written a detailed blog post as well which is a tribute to my mom with five motivational mantras! Caramel Pudding with Condensed Milk

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
- 1 can of condensed milk (395 grams)
- 1 liter of full fat milk
- 6 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence/extract
Instructions
- In a hot pan, pour 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar.
- Caramelize the sugar until it tuns into a golden brown color.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
- Toss in the vanilla extract.
- Add the condensed milk in the mixing bowl.
- Pour in the milk.
- Continue mixing until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Pour the mixture into the bowl where we caramelized the sugar earlier.
- Put the mixture in a water bath.
- Bake at 400F for 1.5 hours.
- Serve and enjoy!
Pakistani Kheer Recipe
Next is classic traditional Kheer – which has been made super special and delicious with addition of condensed milk. A pinch of salt at the end is the real secret that not only offsets the sweetness but also helps it set in clay pots (mitti ki piyalian).
Kheer with Condensed Milk - Pakistani Recipe
Are you having a difficult time prepping a Desi dessert? No worries! Here is a super easy recipe that is nearly foolproof. Watch out for an awesome tip at the end of the recipe that takes this to another level!
Ingredients
- 2 liters full fat milk
- 3/4 cup of Basmati rice (washed and soaked overnight or at least 8 hours with enough water to cover the rice well)
- 1 tin (395 grams) of condensed milk*
- Few strands of Saffron (optional)
- 1/3 cup of sugar (or as required)**
- 1/8 teaspoon of salt
- Pistachios and almonds (blanched, peeled, and sliced) , dried rose buds for garnish
- 1/2 Almond flour/powder dissolved in 1/2 cup water***
Instructions
- In a deep well cleaned pot, bring the milk to a boil.
- Crush the rice roughly using your fingers, then add it into the milk.
- Add crushed saffron.
- Cook on low heat for approximately 2 hours, or until color changes and kheer thickens.
- Stir occasionally. Remove from heat.
- Add condensed milk and continue stirring.
- Check sweetness and add sugar accordingly. (Keep in mind that sweetness slightly increases when cooled)
- Add almond paste if using.
- Blend for only a few minutes using a stick blender. You can also use a big wooden spoon for blending the traditional way.
- Return to low heat stirring well. Cook for 10 minutes until sugar is dissolved and kheer reaches the desired consistency. Take it off heat.
- After 5 minutes, add salt. Stir and dish out.
- Garnish with nuts and dried flowers.
- Chill, serve and enjoy!
Notes
* The use of condensed milk reduces the cook time significantly else it is traditionally a slow and prolonged cooked dessert.
** Use 1/4 cup sugar if not using almond powder.
*** You can grind almonds at home in pulse setting.

Instant Kulfi Recipe with Condensed Milk
Qulfi or Kulfi is the desi ice cream and is very popular on its own or in the form of falooda. My mom used to make it with crushed cornflakes and cooked for hours to get that flavor, texture and color but oh well, this blender qulfi is closest, easiest, no cook version of our good old kulfi.
Instant Kulfi Recipe with Condensed Milk

Ingredients
- 200 ml condensed milk
- 175 ml evaporated milk
- 200 ml whipping/heavy/double cream
- 2 large bread slices
- 1 teaspoon crushed cardamom
- Few strands of saffron
- 1 cup crushed pistachios
Instructions
- Whip the cream until it is semi-soft in texture. You can skip this step but this method will give a lighter texture to your Kulfi.
- Blend slices with cardamom and half of the evaporated milk in your blender.
- Mix altogether with condensed milk and the rest of the evaporated milk.
- Add the saffron.
- Mix it in with whipped cream either by hand beater or whisk. Make sure that the mixture is homogeneous and well incorporated.
- Freeze the mixture in an airtight container. it is preferable to put the container in a plastic bag for additional protection from freezer air.
- Take it out after 2 hours or when it is semi-frozen. Beat with a beater. This will make sure that the mixture is well blended and does not settle down in the bottom and there are no crystals. you have the option to repeat this process as needed.
- freeze until completely frozen.
- Serve and enjoy!
Sheer Khurma Recipe Pakistan
Sheer Khurma, well I will make a mean claim, I have not eaten better sheer khurma than my mom’s. Like I am not even a milk or sivvayyan person, yet I love how she makes it and I got video recipe here for you.
Sheer Khurma Recipe Pakistani
Sheer Khurma is a family recipe that is an integral part of trolley in most homes in Pakistan. Learn this Eid recipe in under 10 minutes!
Ingredients
- 1 liter full fat milk
- 100g condensed milk
- 4 tablespoon ghee/clarified butter
- 2 pieces green cardamom
- 100g pistachios (blanched and sliced)
- 100g almonds (blanched and sliced)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- A pinch of saffron
- 1 teaspoon crushed cardamom
- 50-60g crushed vermicellis
Instructions
- Pour the milk in a bowl. Let it simmer for 30 minutes.
- In a separate pan, heat up the ghee/butter.
- Toss in the pistachios and cardamom.
- Add the almonds.
- Mix all the ingredients to avoid burning.
- Set aside.
- In the same pan, put the vermicelli.
- Stir gently then set aside.
- In the bowl of milk from earlier, add a pinch of saffron.
- Toss in the crushed cardamom.
- Add the condensed milk.
- Add the sugar.
- Stir continuously.
- Add the fried vermicelli and nuts from earlier.
- Serve and enjoy!
Baked Yogurt Recipe
Last but the lightest and least sweet is Baked Yogurt, again technically not a Pakistani dessert but its Bangladeshi origin and is available in Karachi in one particular shop with the name “Meetha Dahi” . Made with only three ingredients, it is a clear winner to end those heavy dinner menu!

Ingredients
- 1 tin (397 grams) condensed milk
- 100 mL cream
- 500 grams yoghurt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Fruits for garnishing
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, pour in the yoghurt.
- Add the condensed milk and cream.
- Add the vanilla extract. This will add flavor to your yoghurt.
- Whisk all the ingredients gently but thoroughly.
- Place the dish/ramekins in a large baking dish.
- Pour the mixture into the ramekins.
- Pour water in the large baking dish for water bath.
- Bake in pre-heated oven at 300F for 15-20 minutes or until it has set and not jiggly.
- Remove from the oven, cool and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Garnish with fruits of your choice.
- Serve and enjoy!
